The piece

Description

The SKL Dayto Forest Green is a Seiko Mod chronograph watch in an English rally livery. A deep forest green, like the bodies of British racing cars. Above, an engraved steel tachymeter bezel replaces the usual black with light. The circled green subdials maintain the monochrome, and the oyster bracelet extends the steel. This is the chronograph for vintage car enthusiasts, one that evokes the Goodwood paddocks more than display cases. And it also drives very well in the city.

The English Racing Livery

The forest green is dense and deep, barely sun-dappled. And the engraved steel bezel illuminates it by contrast where a black bezel would have dulled it. Circled green subdials, luminescent hands, 41mm 316L steel case, 13mm thick. Sapphire crystal, solid engraved case back, three-link oyster bracelet. The monochrome green and steel ensemble has the elegance of a classic car pulled out of the garage on a dry Sunday. The engraved steel bezel reflects light in a continuous ring around the green: the watch has a permanent halo. The circles of the subdials echo this.
